Our Mission  

In its most basic sense, the mission of Oahe Habitat  for Humanity is to provide affordable, decent housing in the Pierre-Fort Pierre area.

Another important function is to bring the community together to work on a project with the simple goal of helping a deserving family realize the dream of home ownership.

As an all-volunteer organization, we occasionally have office hours from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, and we would also be happy to set up a time to visit with you.

Meet Our Homeowner - 2010  

Oahe Habitat for Humanity 2010 homeowner is Tacy Kennison. She has a 10-year old daughter named Kelly.  Tacy was raised in the Lead-Deadwood area of South Dakota and moved to Pierre in May of 2000. She works in Pierre for the State of South Dakota Department of Labor and also works at Runnings Farm and Fleet part-time. Tacy and Kelly enjoy bowling, darts and spending time outdoors fishing, bike riding, going for long walks, and camping. When Tacy is not busy with her daughter she is the President of the Fort Pierre Fire Department Auxiliary.
